Why waiting to list until spring in Methuen might not be a good idea

Methuen Single Family Home Inventory December 2012

Available inventory of single family homes for sale in Methuen, MA has been on a decline since May of 2012.  Yet, with interest rates still at historically low levels, buyers are still looking for homes now.  Many home sellers that I have talked with recently have been saying that they are going to “wait until spring” to put their home on the market.  Considering the laws of supply and demand, you may want to consider listing your home for sale now before available inventories rise.  Rising inventories can mean more competition for your listing.  Why not list now before everyone else does?

The average days on market of single family homes in Methuen on December 31, 2012 was 152 days, compared to 169 days one year ago and the average list price was $287,095.

A similar inventory trend is also seen in the condo market in Methuen and multi family home inventories are also near the yearly low.
