Methuen Picture of the Week – Giant Snow Pile at the Loop Methuen

February 15th 2011 – It has been a little over a week since our last major snow storm here in Methuen.  Some of you may have heard of the new landmark in Methuen deemed “Mount Loop.”  With so much snow in such a short time the workers at the Loop had to do something creative to get rid of it and make room for cars to park.  Smaller piles adorn the parking lot in every available spot, but this problem has given birth to a new landmark here in Methuen.  A giant mountain of snow estimated to be over 60 feet high now deemed “Mount Loop” has been getting some attention around Boston.  I have heard of people driving from miles away to come see it.  I snapped a few pictures of it for you last week and wanted to share one with you.  Notice the light pole sticking out of the pile.  The American flag at the top of the mountain is a nice touch!
